Cheetah Laying down Sculpture
This life size Klipspringer is mounted on an old block of Cedrella wood. The weathered chainsaw marks seemed to suggest a slab of stone. These delicate antelope live in the granite boulders in Southern Africa.
The latest mammal added to my collection of sculptures is this 1.4 meter Giraffe. Standing on three legs, the neck created a problem of balance as the weight of the wood could topple him over. To over come this I used dense hardwood in the rump to anchor him down.
